Max Frommeld, product and furniture design graduate of Ravensbourne College of Design & Communications, London, England won the New Designers Award for 2008 from the New Designers exhibit this past July also held in London. The exhibit showcases some 4,000 newly graduated students covering 20 design disciplines from art to architecture to textiles and fashion. Frommeld has shown tremendous promise in understanding space and how storage needs to partner with it. His Adapt Shelves System showed flexibility with wood slats sliding to either side of the frame and hooks and bookends that can be applied where and as needed.
But for me, it was the tight space configuration and the wrap-around-the-corner one that convinced me this designer is going places.
