I’ve recently started watching the first season of the AMC show Mad Men. In one of the earlier episodes they touched on the VW Beetle ad campaign during its introduction to the American market. The campaign was known for being revolutionary with it’s use of realistic copy, simple type and imagery.
Then today I saw the latest ad campaign for VW’s new electronic gear box. The concept of the numbers, representing the gears, merging into each other seamlessly is brilliant. I would probably frame these and put them up on a wall… that is how kick-ass I think the artwork for this campaign is.
