The House of the Future is coming back to Disneyland. It will cost 15 million and have 5000 sq ft of floor space. Inside will reside actors from an imaginary family, preparing for their vacation to China. The house will be outfitted with all the gadgets that are thought to be incorporated into our daily lives in the future (ie: automatic lighting and thermostats, advanced audio/video systems, and computerized everything). With Microsoft, HP and LifeWare sponsoring the project, you’d expect nothing less.
The first House of the Future attraction (pictured above) ran from 1957 until 1967 and depicted how we would live in 1986. It was equipped with a microwave oven, electric toothbrushes, a big screen color tv and a pushbutton speakerphone.
You can check out the new, futuristic residence starting in May at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
