I overall appreciate your newsletter and the modern preservation however, a lot of what i see advertised in your letter especially the stores is not modern furniture but junky contemporary furniture. The real shame in this is that modernists and modern are the Eames, Corbussier, Wrights of the world and not this swirly zig zag stuff that is confused with Modern. Please educate your readers and don’t contribute to the misundersatnding of what modern is and is not. Thank you

As much as I appreciate the feedback, I have to wonder why these comments appear after a post about well designed children’s toy cars. These cars are considerate of both form and function and are therefore, in my humble opinion, modern in every way.

If by saying modern you mean current, you should specify with “contemporary” being that you are discussing design/art/craft. Modernism: late 19th, early 20th century; comes with a specific style. Contemporary art cannot so easily be genrefied b/c we are IN IT. So, unless you are referencing Modernism stylistically, you should go for contemporary.
