Ron Arad
Another day, another wildly famous designer. Today, I wanted to bring attention to Ron Arad:
Born in Tel Aviv, he studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art. In '73, he moved to London and studied at the School of Architecture under Peter Cook and Tschumi. He founded a design and architecture studio with Caroline Thorman in London.
Currently, he has the Ron Arad Studio, based in London, that practices architecture, sculpture and furniture design. He is a professor of industrial and furniture design at the RCA in London. His work has been shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), Vitra Design Museum (Germany) and others. His architectural projects include restaurants, hotels and concepts for corporations (like Adidas). His furniture is produced by:
